Building Trades provides instruction in the use of hand/power tools to construct or repair structures of wood, plywood, and wallboard. the course includes the use of wood finishing tools, how to cut/shape wood pieces, assemble/glue parts together, sand and apply finishes to completed projects. the students learn how to interpret blueprints, sketches and building plans. In the second year, emphasis is placed on practical experience in the building and finish work of residential or commercial structures.
