Walter Ray Williams Jr. storyline...He set PBA records in 1993 for four 300 games in a tournament, most games bowled in a year (1,300) and most 200 games in succession (61). He is also the 1st to reach 2 millon dollars in carrer earnings in 1997. Walter Ray Williams Jr. received professional bowling's top honor April, 1995, when he was inducted into the PBA's Hall of Fame in the Performance category. But, until 1993, Walter Ray Williams Jr. was better known for his five world championships in horseshoes (he won his sixth in 1994) than for his six PBA titles and Player of the Year honors in 1986 Despite entering the PBA Hall of Fame in 1995 he now stands at 30 career titles and more than $2.35 million in career earnings (all time leading money winner), Williams Jr. still has goals in bowling. He would like to have more first place finishes than second and would also like to win the World Horseshoe Pitching Championship and be PBA Player of the Year in the same year. When he isn't bowling or pitching shoes, Williams Jr. likes to play chess, golf and work on his computer. He travels the tour with his wife Paige in a fifth-wheel trailer (he pulls with a customized small freightlinner FL-60 truck, which is an amazing truck! wish I had taken a pic of it. ) that seems as big as a small apartment and affords Williams Jr. all the comforts of home. Currently the #1 bowler in the world, highest average on tour, he has 30 first place finishes, and 31 seconds on the pba tour...he has made over 117 telecast, highest average in pba history, past pba president twice. Walter Ray just won his 5th bowler of the year award and his 3rd in a row. Im sure he would like nothing more than to win the award once again this year putting him in a class all by hiself, not that he is not already! If you are looking for perfection you found the right guy! He has 54 perfect games on the PBA tour which is far above the next in line, Those 54 do not include 300's he has shot in league or unsanctioned. Walter Ray has been ranked number 1 in the world for the past 84 tournaments he has been in. (Recently he gave up the #1 spot for one week before regaining it the following week) He has earned over $200,000 in a year 4 times now (the only bowler to do so) and is the most accurate bowler to ever step onto a pair of lanes. If The "King of Swing' stays on tour another 5 years, the PBA program will look more like the Walter Ray book of statistics. It pretty much does already. Below are many links devoted to WR.
