LITTLE WAR GAP
The Little War Gap fire tower is
located just a few miles North of Rogersville, TN. It is easily
spotted from road number 70
as it crosses Clinch Mountain. You can see the old road to the
tower from a pulloff at the gap, however, when the road was
cut through the gap, the bottom portion of the road to the fire
tower was destroyed. There is a house that sits near the old road
up to the tower/summit, but it looks abandoned. I have tried
numerous times to find out any information about this tower, and
even who the landowner is so maybe I could visit the tower and
take some photos, but haven't had any luck. This would be
a hike as the old road is inaccessable due to the highway cut,
even for my street/trail bike. I have taken some pictures and
also found some old 1940's pictures at the Tennessee State
Library and Archives that I am posting. Thanks for looking.

Unfortunately, this was as close as I could get and still get a
decent picture. It was a cloudy day so the pictures didn't turn
out as well as I'd hoped. This was also taken with a 12X optical
zoom. If anyone has any info on this or any other tower on
the page, please send me an email. The link is on the main page.
Thanks.
