Children:(1) son James H. Moore, birth 1833 in Scott County, Virginia, death 21 Dec 1862, killed in civil war; he was involved in the early battle in eastern Kentucky; he died in the hospital located at Emory and Henry university at Meadow View Washington County, Virginia. James H. Moore joined Army with his brother John Wesley who was from Lee County, Virginia. Their deaths are listed in Lee and Scott Counties civil war death records.

(2) son William M. Moore, birth 1835 Scott County, Virginia, death and burial unknown.

(3) son George W. Moore, birth 1836 in Scott County, Virginia, death and burial are unknown.

(4) son John Wesley Moore, birth 1837 in Scott County, Virginia, death 1862, killed in the civil war. He was involved in the campaign of Eastern Kentucky. He died in a hospital located in Emory and Henry University at Meadow View, Virginia. Married: Elizabeth Deboard. John and Elizabeth were listed in Scott County Virginia Marriage Book 2, page 3, line 39, dated 20 Dec 1855. Listed John's parents as William Moore and Rhoda and Elizabeth parent's as Silas Deboard and Sara.The minister was W.M. Addington. they had three children, one was named Squire, listed in 1880 Census for Washington County as nephew to Edward and Martha A. Clark living in the Clark household. After John's death, Elizabeth remarried and moved with the two children to Indiana. It appears that squire lived with his aun’t Martha.

Marriage: Squire D. Moore and Mary D. Barb were listed in Scott County, Virgina marriage book # 2, page 64, line 15, dated 28 Jun 1880. His age 21, single, born in Scott County, parents John and Elizabeth, occupation farmer. Her age 20, single, born in Scott County, parents Jachob S. and Elizabeth. Minister Jachob Groves, remarks white.

(5) son Emmit B. Moore, birth 1839 in Scott County, Virginia. Death: 15 Dec 1906 in Scott County, Virginia. Burial: Dec 1906 in Vermillion Cemetery, Hiltons, Scott County, Virginia. Marriage: 12 Feb 1857 to Deliah R. Clark, birth 1830 in Gilford, N. C., Her parents were James Clark, and Mary, birth in North, Carolina, Emmit and Deliah were Listed in 1880 census for Scott County, Virginia, Fulkerson District, House # 36. They were later listed in 1900 census for Scott Fulkerson District, house # 88, followed by their son John Moore and spouse Lucinda, at house #89. Also listed in deed records of Scott County, E. B. Moore and wife Deliah as grantor of property to his sister Martha A. (Moore) Clark, for land deeded to her son Shelvy John Clark located in Poor Valley, Hiltons, Scott County, Virginia. This is in Deed Book 32, page 146, dta 5 Sep 1889, record of deeds Gate City, Scott County, Virginia.

This Census states that Emmit B. Moore's Mother was Born in N.C. Also Deliah parents are James Clark, and Mary, known from Scott County marriage record . They were born in N.C.. We think that this is reference to Rhoda Cautches, spouse of William Moore, and mother to Emitt B. Moore and Martha A. Moore, wife of Edward L. Clark. It is thought that Rhoda A. Cautches, was a native American Indian (Cherokee).
