Who?

AIM Scholars are high school students from Hawkins County, Kingsport City, Sullivan County, and Scott County school systems who have completed a specific curriculum that provides a high level of skills and readiness for the labor market or higher education.

What?

Appalachian Inter-Mountain Scholars is a regional program sponsered by area business and industry.

When?

AIM Scholars are recognized annually during their high school years. At an awards celebration in the spring of their senior year, AIM Scholars receive special recognition. A directory of AIM Scholars is provided to area employers to promote job opportunities.

Why?

Students choose to be AIM Scholars because they are assured that their high school education will prepare them for the work force and enable them to compete for a meaningful job. AIM Scholars are awarded a special certificate that is recognized by Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia employers as a symbol of a high quality education. Students pursuing university study or advanced technical education are also well prepared.

How?

You can become an AIM Scholar by choosing to complete the AIM Scholars curriculum at your high school.
